Emerge Middle School Youth Group
Hey Emerge! You may have noticed the new name. Upon first arriving at Holy Cross, I noticed that the Middle School group didn’t have a name, whereas the High School group did, hence the new name.
The idea behind Emerge came from my own personal faith journey. When I was in middle school, I began reading and learning about the Bible. The stories sparked my imagination. Curiosity took hold of me, and faith began to grow and take shape in my life. Faith was something that found me very early on, and the same holds true. Faith isn’t reserved for adults; it can find anyone. We see it in the Bible in the story of Samuel, where God speaks to him at a young age, and the same holds true for us today. God is still speaking.
Here’s what's coming up for our weekly events. Each week will be focused on one of the following types of events:
INVITE: Join us for a fun event or outing and INVITE a friend!
NURTURE: These are faith-formation events. We’ll check in, explore a Bible story and pray.
SERVE: We’ll roll up our sleeves for a service project (think like Feed My Starving Children).

June & July Summer Schedule
+Saturday, June 8 @ Par-King & Sugarville from 12 pm - 2 pm (Invite Youth Event)
Join us on Saturday, June 1, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Par-King (21711 North Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire, IL 60069). For the first hour, we'll play mini-golf at Par-King, and then for the second hour, we'll finish with Ice Cream at Sugarville (107 W Church St, Libertyville, IL 60048). We need chaperones if any parents are interested in joining us for mini-golf and ice cream. RSVP at edwin@holycrosschurch.org
+Thursday, June 20 @ HCLC 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm (Dads Making Dinner: A Summer Family Event)
How about some gourmet pizza for dinner? This summer family event is bound to be a hit! The Dads will be responsible for dinner and be pizza ovens to fire up your individual creations. Moms, you'll want to circle this one on your calendar. RSVP at dadsdoingdinner@holycrosschurch.org
+Wednesday, June 26 @ Lincoln Park Zoo 10 am- 12 pm (A Day at the Zoo: A Summer Family Event)
We're starting a series of summer family events at the zoo. We will meet at the main gate at 10 a.m. We'll explore the zoo and its exhibits and discover more about the animal kingdom. Admission is free, but there is a parking charge. RSVP at summerdaytrips@holycrosschurch.org
+Sunday, June 30 @ HCLC 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (Nurture Event)
Join us for a Nurture Event. We'll be having a Bible study, discussion, prayer, and ending with a game or two. As always, we’ll share some snacks and have a check-in. Friends are always welcome at any event. Hope to see you there!

Nature, trails, and gardens, what isn't there to enjoy? Join us for a summer family event at the Chicago Botanic Garden. We will be carpooling from the church at 9 a.m. Pack your lunch or enjoy some of the seasonal produce available at the cafeteria. Admission will be free. RSVP at summerdaytrips@holycrosschurch.org

+Wednesday, July 24 Sacred Places Tour (Chicago Architecture Center: A Summer Family Event)
Join us for a walking tour of eight historic churches and synagogues in the heart of Chicago. The guided tour will begin promptly at 10 a.m. We will meet at the church and head out at 8:45 a.m. Following the tour, we will have lunch. There is a $30 fee. RSVP at summerdaytrips@holycrosschurch.org
